background
My interest in all things related to the construction of buildings was ignited by my grandfather, a bricklayer by trade and a master craftsman, whose love for the industry kick-started my own wonderful journey into architecture.
Armed with a B.Arch from the University of Pretoria, I took the first steps into my career in 1997 in Midrand, and spent two more years in Gauteng to complete my in-service training. I registered as a professional architect and ventured out to Limpopo to start my own company.
I spent 11 years working in Tzaneen on small residential-scaled projects. Larger, multi-disciplinary projects for the Department of Public Works and Department of Education, kept me very busy for the next few years, as did traveling all over Limpopo as architect on numerous schools in the rural areas for IDT.
And then it was time for a change – a change that would see us realize our family’s dream of moving to the Western Cape, and settling in Swellendam in December 2017.
